Auckland Girls Championship 2023 Results

Date: June 23^rd , 2023

Venue: Mt Albert War Memorial Hall, 15 May Rd, Mt Roskill

Format: Three separate 6 round tournaments in age groups: Over 12, Under 12 and Under 10 years.

Time Control:15 minutes plus 5 seconds per move for each player.

Prizes: Age group titles were awarded for Under 18, 16, 14, 12, 10, 8, and 6.

Trophies and medals for place-getters, plus participation certificates for all players.

This is part of an NZCF initiative to encourage girls to try chess in an all-girl environment run by the Waitakere Chess Club.

174 girls from 59 schools took part in this year’s event
